First, you cannot base your review on a bad experience with another model and possibly give anyone any information that is specifically for the one here.I have this TV and it is great.Beautiful picture and nice sound and it was cheap. It has a better picture than my 37″Vizio and it even looks great on my dresser.I own 4 Lcd Tv’s and this one rates 2nd in picture clarity. My 42″ Toshiba Regza looks and sounds the best.I hope this was helpful.

Customer Review

I don’t have problem with this HDTV. I still think it is a best deal with the very nice picture and sound quality. I bought it during Thanksgiving sales from Target. I hooked it up with a regular common antenna; and I did a full channel-scan by following the instructions on the manual. As long as it catches the digital signal, the picture quality and sound are great. For example, in my local area, picture and sound quality from the digital channels such as Channel 2.1 (KCBS), Channel 4.1 (KNBC), Channel 5.1 (KTLA) etc. are superb, crystal clear–I can enjoy watching the news reporter’s beautiful pupil. This HDTV reaches a high quality of engineering design. For those who complained about the buzz noise, I would suggest them to check the external input to the TV, which is possibly the source of the buzz noise came from. I never experienced any buzz noise from my unit of Westinghouse HDTV. My only suggestion to Westinghouse is that they need to put a little more effort to the design of the on-screen menu. It doesn’t look that fancy but it is fully functional without any problem. Thanks Westinghouse for the high quality of HDTV. You got my A rank. If you redesign the on-screen menu to make it look nicer, I will give you A+.

Still going strong! - D. Madden - White Lake, MI United States
I to bought mine on Black Friday 2008. It was our 4th HDTV. Good size for the master bedroom. Haven’t had any issues. Picture is very good, I think it pulls in (off the air) channels better than some of the other HDTV’s in the house. I like the remote, plenty of functions, good size. TV even offers program information which our more expensive LG and Panasonic do not. Only thing it (the program info guide) can be a bit difficult to read. It’s large but translucent so it’s tough to read depending on the TV program showing behind the guide.

Other than that very small issue - the TV has been great. Glad we bought it.

Customer Review

Since this TV only has 2 reviews, I decided to write my own.

PROS:

-1080p looks great - I’m using this for my Xbox 360 and my games look amazing. Blacks are black and the colors are good.
-No stuck or bright pixels, but one half-broken pixel(does not display red) This took me a week to even notice and I really had to look closely
-Plenty of connections in the back
-Low price - the next cheapest 32″ 1080p is at least 40 bucks more, and a brand-name one will set you back at least 250 more.
-Shiny (could be a con for some people that touch their tv alot)
-Comes with an accessory bag (For the power cable and remote, haha)
-Built in speakers are pretty good for a LCD.
-Accepts 1080p over component
-Power LED is dim and green, off is dim red. I hate those bright blue ones - they’re annoying, especially at night.

CONS:

-Menu is too simple - Theres only the basic calibrations for this tv (brightness, contrast, color) and no fancy settings. This is the biggest con for me.
-Remote is a little cheap - but that doesn’t matter, right?
-Infrared sensor on the tv kind of sucks. Have to point the remote directly at the tv without any sort of obstructions.
-No video cables included - Not sure if other TV’s come with at least composite, but go do yourself a favor and get a HDMI or component cable if you don’t have one already.
-You might have to squeeze if you have 3 HDMI cables plugged in - they’re a bit close.

OTHER:

I’m not able to comment on the channel surfing on this set as I use a cable box to watch TV. However, it does state that there are ATSC and QAM tuners built in. Also this is my first real HDTV (other than a computer monitor) so I can’t comment on common problems and if they are in this set or not. They included some sort of accessory bag, but it only had the remote, the power cable, and some sort of plastic cover that I don’t know what it goes to (possibly if you take the stand off to mount it?). For the price you pay, you can’t get any better. If you’re looking for a 32″ 1080p, don’t care about the brand, and have money constraints, this is the tv to get. If you’re looking for a brand name tv or one with all sorts of image calibrations and settings, you should look elsewhere.

Bad Choice - Should have known better -
Bought the 32′ WHITE tv .It arrived promptly. Picture is disappointing. Iemailed for support
and was told you must have an antenna problem. Support is not being helpful inspite of several e mails for help.I feel like I wasted 0.I cannot recommend this product or company. I should have stuck with the name brands !!

a nice tv with good sound - Louann Sherman -
this tv is realy nice. it has grate pic and grate sound wich was importent to us we are getting a 2ed one for another room. we are veary happy with are tv.

Sharp’s AQUOS LC-32GP2U is the second generation 32″ LCD TV sporting a 1920 x 1080 pixel format. The LC-32GP2U has a very good 2000:1 static contrast ratio, a brightness of 450 cd/m2 and a decent number of HDMI ports (three). There is already a third generation LC-32GP3U but the price sweet spot is on the LC-32GP2U with a 99.99 price. The 99.99 price is a good price for a 1080p-capable 32″ LCD TV.

Customer Review

As a future college student, I have looked for, researched, and tried out many small HDTV’s to use as a computer monitor/HDTV for my dorm room. The employees at Best Buy stated that if a TV wasn’t over 46 inches big, you couldn’t tell the difference between 1080p and 720p. However, he didn’t know what he was saying. At relatively far distances (i.e. normal watching distance for most TV’s) the difference between 1080p and 720p is small to none. However, from a short distance (like 4 feet for a 42 inch, or 1.5 feet for a 24 inch) you can easily tell the difference in resolution. This is where this T.V. comes in. As a computer monitor, I will be close up to the screen, reading tiny text like the text in this review! Now that the main issue has been sorted out, it’s onto the main review:

Contrast-5000:1 may seem like a big number, but that is only dynamic. Although I couldn’t find the static/typical contrast, it is probably around 900-1000. However, since this set has a relatively low brightness (300 cd/m2), blacks looked blacker than normal, which is a good thing.

Resolution- 1080p…enough said!

Motion- 5 ms means that button presses on any device (like a keyboard or game console) happen with only an unnoticable .05 second delay, which is lightning fast. However, since there is no 120Hz, there will be noticeable motion blur on extremely fast action scenes. This tv is relatively small, so motion blur won’t be a big problem for normal watching and gaming.

Feature Set/Presentation- since this is an ECO HDTV, it uses far less power than previous models, if your into the whole energy saving thing. SRS TruSurround is always a good thing for making movies and other sounds “pop” but when that program is run through 3 Watt speakers, you can’t expect much. The 3D comb filter, now standard with many HDTV’s, helped to put out a wide color scheme; at least that’s what my friends said they saw, I’m colorblind, so color gamut specs really don’t apply to me. The white/black look touches off my 360, but it can only match with so many things.

Overall Value- for a little over 0, you get full 1080p, a relatively “large-small-screen” great for a computer monitor, and the confidence that you got another good HDTV from Vizio.

Hope you liked the review!

5 stars within its class - R. W. Russell - Lodi, CA United States
By “5 stars within its class,” I mean this is an excellent set if you don’t compare it to much more expensive TVs with far more features. If you’re just looking for an HDTV in this size with a really great picture and simple operation, and at a bargain price, this one qualifies nicely. It’s currently being featured at Costco at a deep discount. (March 2010).

I connected mine to an over-the-air antenna, and the HD picture out of the box was simply outstanding. Another advantage that this model has over many of its competitors is the front-facing speakers and strong audio output. I previously bought a Samsung P2770HD with similar specs, except that the audio output from its down-pointing speakers was really poor, even at max output. I took it back to the store. You can hear this one in any room with the volume control at less than 50%.

Some reviewers have criticized this set because of its tinny sound (described as “hiss” or “static” in other reviews). That’s largely because the default audio tone setting is “flat,” and you can change it in the audio submenu. I set mine to “rock,” which improved the bass and cut the tinniness.

I didn’t have any of the other problems cited by other reviewers such as color bleed or a logo that won’t go away. No logo on my screen.

I’m not a fan of Vizio in general, as it’s by no means a top of the line manufacturer, and their sets rarely show up on any preferred list in Consumer Reports and the like. But I decided to take a chance on this one due to Costco’s generous return policy. If it disappoints me within 90 days, I can take it back for a full refund. But first impression on this one is that it will be a keeper.

It’s great but…. - Peter B. Perkins Jr. - California
This TV is easy to use, has a good array of inputs on the back, and even has a headphone input. My biggest complaint is the light bleed especially the edges. Coupled with Blu-Ray the picture is amazing but when my eyes aren’t attracted to the edges I’m looking at that spot that supposed to be dark but is kind of shiny-ish. If you know what I am talking about and really don’t care then I highly suggest this TV and brand in general for the ease of use and low prices but if you are easily distracted like me you should probably look for something else…
