When I decided to get an LCD TV, I shopped on line a bit and settled on this one, thinking the Sharp name would be enough to ensure a decent product. I am more than pleased with my decision. The picture on this TV, even with just rabbit ears, is outstanding. The sound is excellent, too, which is something I was worried about with a flat panel; however, I was pleasantly surprised.

I chose this model because of the 1080 resolution and the cabinet style, which I think is the most attractive out there for TVs of this type. The base allows the panel to rotate about 110 degrees, which is very nice and not particularly common with these things. I bought the red one (it’s really more burgundy, but that’s hard to tell from the pictures), and am glad I got such a unique set; it matches my crib. The auto brightness feature is great, especially for a bedroom, where I use my TV. Setup was easy and virtually everything is pretty intuitive without having to read the manual.

The cons are: cheesy remote with cheap feel and poor key layout (I bought a Sharp blu-ray at same time, and it came with much more functional remote with better feel); the fact that you have to toggle thru inputs on remote (see other reviews); on-screen display of menu items is too small, although it is neatly laid out. Although it offers stereo audio and subwoofer line-level outputs, I don’t like the switching on these. I want to use the TV’s speakers along with my stereo; I can do this, but I am not able to control output level to stereo (stereo volume) from TV as switching to variable line level output on TV turns off the TV speakers, which I need for realistic sound staging. I know they did this because they think this is what most people would want, but not I. Seems like a simple firmware matter to offer one more selection for audio output configuration.

Overall, though, I’m highly pleased. For years I lived without a TV (by choice) and then with only rabbit ears. I’ve already tried the digital converter box (govt. cheese) on my old tube set and the reception was poor (unlike this TV, which is great with just rabbit ears). So I caved in and did what Big Brother hoped I would with the digital switch: bought a new tv and signed up for pay service, which I’m getting next month. Next year if I find I’m watching enough to justify it, I’ll move this set to the kithcen/office and buy a bigger LCD for the bedroom, probably for less than what I paid for this one (about 0 from Amazon in early December 2008).

I am extremely pleased with the overall quality of this television. While it is a bit on the pricey side for a 32″, the quality of the picture (in both SD and HD) is amazing. I purchased mine refurbished, saving a few hundred dollars, but it is worth the money.

It is hard to find a TV larger than 22″ with a white bezel, and this is the only option out there that isn’t several years old.

I highly recommend this TV if you are looking for a unique color (Red, White), 1080p, and a high quality picture.

I was looking for a 32 inch tv for our bedroom and looked at numerous tvs and reviews. I wasn’t sure about buying a brand that is not well known and was worried that the price of this tv meant poor picture qaulity. After looking at the reviews on amazon and a few other sites, I decided to purchase this tv. It arrived quickly, in good shape, and was easy to get up and going. The picture looks great at the distance from the bed to the tv stand. If you get too close, or too far away, it appears a bit “grainy” but 10-15 feet is just right. I have had this tv for about a month and so far, no problems with powering on and off or anything else. Very happy with the purchase!

I have owned this monitor for about a month. It works fine. It was easy to setup except that in order to get a reasonable picture I had to manually adjust the settings–not a big deal but it took some time to get it right. The picture is adequate. I have used it on gaming machines, DVDs, and HD TV. It is not even close to my Samsung Touch of Color TV, but it was not in the same price league. The sound is better than I expected and certainly adequate for a smaller room.

I got it for my “napping room”, so I watch and sort of sleep. For that purpose it does the job. If you are looking for much more than adequate for a small room, you might want to look elsewhere.

If it holds up, I’ll be happy.

I have owned many LCD TV’s over the years. From Sharp to Sony and from Magnavox and Toshiba. My most recent was a beautiful 24″ LED TV and a 46″ Sharp Aquous LCD TV. I have also owned over 5 32″ HDTV’s, the most recent being a Sony KDL-32S5100 and before that a 40″ KDL-40S4100. While I was entirely happy with the excellent quality of the S4100 the S5100 was HUGELY disappointing. The S4100 had some higher end specs with a 10-bit panel and a very nice casing. As the SonyKDL-32S5100 nearly directly competes with the Vizio SV320XVT I will compare the two. As a cost saving initive by Sony the S5100 dropped all the quality parts. It has a lesser 8-but panel and the casing overall feels cheap and is a much lesser quality than I had come to expect from Sony, especially in this price range. The Vizio however screams of quality.

The looks of this set is absolutely beautiful. You can truely tell that Vizio took their top of the line parts and put them all into this awesome package. The casing of the set is stunning. It has a beautiful gloss black surrounding the screen with the speakers, which are the best I have heard from a set this size, sit at the bottom. A very cool little feature is the light up VIzio branding under the screen. It glows a pleasent orange when the set is off and white when it is on. Even the remote is high quality. It is by far the nicest remote to come with any TV I have ever owned. It is super thin and light has a gloss black and chrome case and also has universal remote capability. I have it controlling a Samsung Blu-Ray player, which by the way looks simply awesome on this set. Smother awesome thing about the set is that it is only 2.2 inches thick! This leaves a bunch of extra space on my table for anything else that I want and would be excellent for wall mounting.

Unlike other 1080P sets that I have had SD content looks very good, even coming in straight from a wall jack. The HD 1080P processing on this set is in a league of it’s own, image truely pop from the screen, unlike the Sony which was only just ok. Some people do not like 120Hz sets as they can sometimes have weird effects on what you are watching. I can proudly say that that is not the case here. Another huge plus are the speakers. On my Sony I had to get a separate sound bar to have the sound quality that I wanted. However, no sound bar is needed for this set. I don’t get the low end bass that I got with it but everything else, mids and highs sound perfect.

If you can’t tell, I am absolutely in love with this TV and recommend it to anyone looking for a 32″ HDTV. It is an amazing TV at an amazing price. Vizio has a new long term customer in me!!

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?

With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get. Minimum size = Viewing distance/3 Maximum size=Viewing distance/1.5

I was a little leery of ordering this new 2010 model that didn’t yet have full specifications or other product information available. If it was any brand other than Toshiba, which I’ve had great experiences with, I would have waited or moved to a different product.

Anyway, I’m glad I did order this model 32E200U TV. Ordered from Amazon for a great price, it arrive in three days, in perfect packaging and brought right to my door by my friendly UPS driver. Unpacking and “assembly” was a snap - there really isn’t much to do other than attach the stand, connect the cables, install the remote batteries, and turn it on. It asked a few simple set-up questions, scanned all my cable channels (finding some I didn’t know I had access to), and was ready to go. The remote is super clear and simple to use, everything works, and the picture is great. Black is truely black, color is well balanaced, the image is bright, people and their clothes are their correct colors, and the sound is really quite good. We have a standard 480i cable connection, a 1080i upconverted DVD, laptop streaming NexFlix, and bluray. All work perfectly and switching between inputs is seemless. It has plenty of HDMI inputs (4) in addition to analog, digital, and cable.

Can’t say much else, other that to strongly recommend this product. Buy it, you’ll like everything about it.

I recently Purchased one of these sets because the previous TV I owned my friend fell in love with and bought it off me and I was willing so I could buy this TV(the higher resolution and sound quality). I have never had a problem with any vizio’s we have purchased. the previous 32inch I owned and the 47inch my family owns were purchased 2 years ago at least and are working like a dream.

Back to this TV, when I first saw it in my Girlfriends room after she got it for Xmas I was blown away at the quality of this TV for not being a “high-end” name brand, not to mention the upgrade in quality from my previous 32 inch, it is amazing how well vizio is keeping up with Samsung, Sony, etc. I had to play her playstation 3 games and play a blu-ray movie, I fell in love with it and with the price it sealed the deal. I proudly own one of these sets and is a fantastic product that compliments my game system and blu-ray player in my bed room.

This television delivers where it really counts: picture quality. Color accuracy is as close to perfect as can be straight out of the box. Tones are not oversaturated like many LCDs and contrast is good. The A-IPS panel makes this set have the best viewing angles of any LCD on the market with absolutely no color shift and extremely minimal brightness disparity even at the most extreme angles. The black levels are great, but some of the competing sets with VA panels are better in this regard. The only real fault with this unit is the remote, and not the remote itself, but the receiver in the TV. You have to be pointing the remote directly at the IR receiver for it to function properly. Otherwise, this TV is fantastic for use as an HD media center and a computer monitor. I shopped extensively before deciding, and it came down to this and the Samsung LNA650. Both sets are superlative, but the Panasonic is just that much better.

Panasonic seemed to be a good company and we have had good results with their other products, but I’m sorry to say that this is not the case this time.

The problem with this model (as others here have noted) is the remote. Unless you are standing directly in front of the TV, the remote is unresponsive. In my troubleshooting, I’ve found that this problem is most apparent when the TV has been off for a while. You can turn it on with the remote, but then other controls are unresponsive in as little as 60° and 8 feet away from the TV. After the TV has been on for a while (~15 minutes) the remote will be a bit better, but we still have problems where we find dead zones/angles where the remote will not work. We have to lean over from where we are sitting and wave the remote all around to try to get the TV to respond.

I’ve called Panasonic about this problem and the first solution was to send me a new remote. That didn’t fix it. The second call resulted in the IR board and plastic window being replaced. While this initially appeared to help, I’ve found the problem is still there on cold starts. On the third call, the repair man came out and replaced the entire back board. Still the problem remained. At this point, since every part that could fail has been replaced and given that others here are reporting the same problem, I’ve come to the conclusion that this is a design issue with the TV.

The warranty on this TV has now expired, but before it did, I asked Panasonic Support to take back this TV or give me another model that will work. They told me that a field rep would contact me. I’m still waiting to hear from them.

No expert here, but we like this TV set. No problem viewing from the side. The controller works well, and works on our VCR and DVD player too, although they’re different brands. Somewhere in the years since we bought a TV set, things have improved a lot.

Our TV is opposite a picture window, which is still a problem, but much less of a problem with this LCD model than with our old, fat TV.

If we were in the habit of buying new electronics every couple of years, I might not have wanted to spend so much (totaled about 0), but since I know it’s going to be a loooong time before we replace it, I wanted to get something I could live with for a decade or two.
