Terk FDTV1A Flat Digital Omni Directional Amplified Indoor Antenna (Black) Review

This is a great little antenna.
I have a great picture, many * free (cable) channels, and some breathing space
the constant search of the dipole / loop handling.
Before buying this antenna I tried two other aspects: the RCA ANT1251 (Digital Amplified Indoor Antenna)
and RCA ANT121 (Loop basic and extendable dipole) internal antenna.
The problem with each loop / dipole antenna is clear: if the antenna is (somehow)technologically superior,
Many times, the hours are spent re-adjusting and re-re-regulation, the dipoles Dang, adjusting the loop, and the repositioning of the antenna. And – if loops dipole antenna includes additional "switch" and / or "tuning knobs" (like the RCA ANT121 above), the number of possible positions for aligning the antenna for a successful reception is not optimal limits … and challenging.
I only had the Terk for 3 daysnow, but sweet Jesus … the damn thing actually works, and this is the only reason
I spend precious moments of my life writing this stupid letter. (Yes – I just wanted to give something in return.)
I have this product '4 'star (instead of '5'), because … No product is perfect and that includes the Terk.
small problems:
– When I installed and powered Terk everything I … absolutely nothing.
There were broken horrible, pixelatedPictures, and yes ~ anxiety. Then I added, the signal repeater / amplifier, and voila! I have strong signals, pictures excellent, and very little in terms of the need to reposition the device.
But – to my apartment layout of the city, away from the city stations, etc., etc.,
My unit Terk without the booster adjacent / amplifier to work. (As for the energy conscious among us, could be a problem.)
– Booster / Amplifier Design: The design ofBooster / amplifier unit is a bit 'uncomfortable.
If your amplifier / repeater antenna is connected, there is no on / off, you must connect or disconnect the amplifier to the antenna and the connector / plug from the power amplifier. ~ Essentially, once the amplifier / repeater connected
The antenna will not work without them (and the amplifier must be connected for use).
It 's just a little' uncomfortable, but the excellent performance of the antenna is worthInconvenience.
– Booster / Amplifier Design: also … for my particular layout presents the design of the booster / amplifier is another challenge. The same warning is a small black box connected by wire, both the antenna and my digital converter box. The connection cable (for the booster / amplifier) is a short * / Stubby enough, and the little box call * only * hard enough, it takes for my antenna and / or threatening to drive the rear of the TV . This isno big deal, and a repositioning little help, but until now, the set-up is a bit 'bulky. (I have a thick, analog TV table, my props electronics sit on top of the TV, for convenience). Ideally, the best and want both the main antenna, however, and poor access booster-box neighbors, on any flat surface.
(Note: The antenna cable first you have plenty of space to move the unit around, but no more than 2-3 m.
ofYour TV. when the amplifier / repeater is connected, an additional 1 to 1.5 m cable is applied loosely,
the device moves.)
– I can at any local train station / channel of my parish has offered … with one exception. This is interesting because the positioning of the device in almost any position will result in each channel (in my area), some clear … With the exception of a small canal that refuses to be seen.
In essence …
This device is easyto install, easy to install on my box, analog TV and digital converter APEX
has a simple design, without buttons or switches, and requires very little in terms of adjustment / repositioning.
My current device is sitting on a pile of clean laundry on a couch next to my TV, and has required little movement or repositioning of receiving a great signal. During the day the unit is on top of a pile of clothes. Through the night (apparently the signal positions "reorient" itself or something), I move the unit1-ft. removed to sit on another pole. occasional corrections to improve the quality of the images have been few, and needs only the minimum turn the device left or right.
I back my $ 100 Best Buy-version, and again here at 2:01 for the price.
(Amazon bless you …)
More memory: For most, you may want to purchase an additional 60-20 ft coaxial cable,
easy to find the perfect location for signal reception.
Also:Do not forget the box unit tests without the use of repeater or amplifier.
Finally: Do not forget to check the unit either horizontally or vertically.
Good luck.
