Channel Master CM 3679 Ultra Hi-Crossfire HDTV Antenna Review

Overall I'm satisfied with the structure and performance of this antenna. There seems to be at least as good antennas available locally I've seen, and satisfies my performance details and price range built. I was very pleased to see that it is produced in the United States.

The problem is that none of the instructions are specific to the antenna. The first page is generic Crossfire for all antennas. The second page, while useful for the correct assembly of the spindleDipole, continues to disregard this specific antenna. This is important because it is a good guide, where to mount the transformer and matching cable. The images do not correspond to the antenna. What that shows, suggests mounting the transformer on the side of the arm with a cable feed almost touching the mains, and the other touching the boom. This is incorrect. A clip for mounting on steel is included for the corresponding processor to create the boom, but not enough distancefit between the connection point and the next item for him. I decided that the best way to mount to mount the transformer is not at all, but simply let hang from the corner terminals mounted on the bottom down by tightening is on the corner reflector coaxial similar to Boom as Figure 8 on the instruction page first. This clip, oddly, is not included. I ended up with the antenna from the back and reworkInstalling the transformer case, because my first attempt resulted in a weak output signal.

Winegard HD-1080 HDTV High Band VHF Antenna Review

I am in Brooklyn, just 9 miles from the Empire State Bldg where most of satellite transmission. I could not get on the roof to place the antenna there, so I fit in my sideyard on a 10-foot 2×4 treated wood and a J so its about 15 m above the ground. The building is close to 20 meters and I experimented with the note it straight to the Empire State or slightly to the west, a view of the road. Slightly West seemded to function better. But two weeks after I made, started the signalto degrade. I have no idea why. I tried different cables, new balun, retighten everything, but that does not work well. Ordered a pre Winegard should come today, will be updated once I get it. I built a house HDTV antenna, you can find on You Tube. It now works better with the 1080i HD antenna I used to get 2,4,5,7,9,11,13,25,31,47,68. Now I did all but 31 with the house, and I only 2,9,11,13,47,68 with the antenna. Tonite I'll try and new wiring, which isDates. I do not know what was happening with the antenna, which works well for two weeks was wrong?
A few days later, changed the wiring and the balun (the thing with braids, which converts the signal 300 Ohm, 75 Ohm) antenna and 20 channels. Wiring can be bent, if I nailed some cable operator?, Balun may have something blocking its opening? From RG59U RG6, which is more difficult to measure on. Some combimantion pass all three of weak signal LEDs. Something elseFool disappointed that TV show and other stations [...] 05:04 in the right direction and the right distance for me, "green" and get a signal. Keep trying, I ordered the preamp. Will update post when the signals received or updated. The signals I get are extremely sharp, and sometimes only 5-1 and 9-2 pixilate and humiliate. Not sure why. 5-2 and 9-1 are perfect and the stations themselves are confused about the difference. To be continued.
So I installed the Winegard HDP-269 Preamplifier lastNight. Enhancement and then 5-1 and 9-2 pixilate more, but it works twice. moderate improvement, but no new channels appeared.
Bottom line, the antenna works well, but not as good as I like to have done before and only a small difference. I think it would have been better on my roof, but I'm afraid of heights, so I can live with it as is.
One day, Internet-TV make obsolete everything.
