Panasonic TC-P42S2 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV Review
This is my first plasma. In the past I had my parents (as well as install and run the basic calibration for many friends and family) the purchase of several high-end LCD televisions useful, and finally I could buy for me. I only had a limited budget and start over with a 1080p Sharp LCD. After creating and calibrating, but I was not satisfied with the quality of the images and decided to replace him.
I had not thought plasmasbecause of all the disadvantages they had when they became popular (which I still think that to be true). After reading more about the state of the plasma TV today, and reading the reviews for that particular model, my interest was aroused. When I was sold the price I saw on Amazon.
Here are my thoughts after living with him for a couple of weeks:
Advantages:
-Very bright with smooth gradients
Black-much deeper than any LCD (including the $ 2000 + modelsI worked with)
Shadow fantastic detail – for example. You can clearly see all the wrinkles on a T-Shirt
The picture quality is amazing, the whole, if the new Castlevania game for the Xbox, and saw him play in black and white samurai classic Yojimbo on DVD or Blu-ray high on my laptop via HDMI.
-Very little glare from sunlight and interior lighting
bezel with blue accent pattern is very similar to the person
-When can the Picture settings menu, so you can see hiddenwhole image, great during the calibration
Neutral:
Pop-decent color calibration settings and video
Sufficient distance
-3 HDMI inputs – enough, but more would be better
Disadvantages:
I noticed that the hand-light noise (still water) on some models it will (probably due to compression of streaming 720p) look at my xbox for Netflix. Setting the noise reduction substantially eliminates the problem so that it is hardly visible to me, and not visiblewatching others with me. I have it any other source, including DVDs and games seen on Xbox.
I could not be happier with my purchase. It would be difficult for an LCD TV at any price I've found that the image of S2 Games.
